Yes, it’s true, I am collecting Pokémon cards. WAIT! HEAR ME OUT! I am not into it for the money, I couldn't care less about making a profit on the latest Chase card. I am all about the collecting and nostalgia aspect.

A while ago, my boyfriend and I got hold of some Pokémon: Phantasmal Flames packs, and we had so much fun opening them up and looking at each card we got. My boyfriend was excited to see the prices and such, but for me… I just felt happy and was captivated by the cards' art! Not to mention how creative the holo finishes have gotten! It was a moment that took me back to the time I got away with convincing my parents to get me a pack or two and rushing home to open each pack and carefully place each card in my binder. I would flip through that binder for an hour, just feeling so inspired by the art and designs. I would sometimes take a card out so I could practice drawing that Pokémon again and again, or just make my version of that card! I had this crazy idea that I could be an artist who creates art for Pokémon cards… such a silly thought, haha.

A couple of more packs in, I went and got a binder and started the collecting process! As an ADHD, OCD completionist, this was a little side hobby I easily enjoy. My boyfriend is also happy to help in my quest while he also tries to make a little money on the side. He recently remembered he had a small stash of miscellaneous trading cards, and one of them was a special Latios card that's apparently worth 2-3K! He’s looking into where and what to do with it. In his search, we found a cute, humble local trading card shop that we visited. They are so sweet over there, and they also have an adorable Clodsire plush that I NEED IN MY LIFE!
